About Raymond Herbert

 

 

             A pianist of exceptional expressive depth, verve, and brilliance, Ray Herbert has thrilled and amazed his audiences with his massive technique and incredible sensitivity, and constant warm musicality--surely one of the world’s outstanding piano musical talents, with concerts throughout the United States and Europe.  His very large repertoire spans the history of piano music.  

 

             An award-winning performer, he has also won awards as an educator for his teaching of the musical art.  With studies at Eastman School of Music and Juilliard, Ray went on to teach at Eastman, Daemen College, and then the University of Missouri-Columbia where, as Professor of Piano, he earned the Blue Chalk Award for Academic Advising and the Purple Chalk Award for Teaching Excellence.  He has presented recitals and master classes around the country, including the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C.
